About the Author: Charles Francis Guittard

Dig down, pull up, and write.

It’s never too late to write your own story.

Now, in my mid-80s, I want to encourage others, especially seniors, to write their memoirs while they still have most of their marbles and the time to do it. It’s very satisfying! And your family won’t have to make sense of all those shoeboxes in the closet with your permanent record.

About the Author

Born in 1942, Charles Francis Guittard graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dallas, Texas, and went on to follow his grandfather’s footsteps at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Charles remains an ardent Baylor University Bear fan, and you can find him wearing his green and gold with pride.

Charles then went on to earn a Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University Law School in 1967. He practiced law for two plus decades and led alternative dispute resolution for a decade. Charles was active in the Texas legal community, founding the Dallas Bar’s Business Litigation Section and chairing the State Bar’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section.

During his legal career, he published twenty articles on litigation and dispute resolution, a number written in a critical or satirical vein; lectured or organized fifty presentations for the Dallas Bar, Texas Bar, and American Bar Association. He also coached championship teams in law student competitions.

Charles married three times, has three children, and four grandchildren. He has published five books, primarily written after his retirement in 2013, but his writing career commenced in 1978.
