Storage: A Poem by Charles Francis Guittard
Storage: A poem
Those faded letters
old report cards,
the essays written
in grade school too.
Don’t throw them away—
Some day you will want them,
recapture how
you were in your youth
when you searched
for some bit of truth,
struggled to explain why
you did this
or didn’t do that,
then grew
into who you are now,
for the better, not the worse.
So keep them safely stored,
from location to location,
pay the monthly fee.
One day read them again
and smile, you’ll see.
